Derek McInnes will already have one eye on Rangers' next fixture against Kilmarnock.

The Bears entered the international break on high spirits after back-to-back wins against rivals Celtic, with Ryan Naderi winning it in latter game.

The momentum earned from those two games could have been highly impactful for the coming fixtures, but the break of domestic football has potentially halted that.

Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen.

McInnes has had quite a few Gers players away with their countries, and work will be getting underway shortly in prepar

And the Rangers will have every reason to believe that he can continue the fine form he has found his side in.

Why Rangers are in a good position for success vs Kilmarnock

Rangers are in fine form, but whether than can continue following the international break is up in the air.

Halting momentum when on a streak of top performances is never ideal.

But Rangers do have a strong record following international breaks, with just one loss from their last five.

And coincidentally, that sole defeat did come at the hands of current manager McInnes who was at Hearts last season.

In those games, the Gers have won three and drawn the other, handing them a total of 10 points from a possible 15.

So, the Glasgow side have a history of being able to buckle up and return to action quickly, and hopefully McInnes keeps up that trend.

What Rangers fans need to see between now and the next international break

Domestic football will now be in action all the way up until the middle of November.

And Rangers must prove that this recent form is not just a positive blip, but instead the emergence of the expectation for fans.

By the next international break, the Gers must be top of the Scottish Premiership, and prove they are one of the hardest teams to beat.

Additionally, they should have booked their place in the Scottish League Cup final after being drawn against Aberdeen.

McInnes will also have to prove himself against his former side, Hearts, with a return to Tynecastle pencilled in on 28 October.

Plenty to look forward to between now and the November break.
