Tam McManus believes that Rangers have a better chance at hiring Harry Potter than former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter.

The former Hibs forward reacted to Paul Robinson's admission that Graham Potter would be open to taking up the Ibrox number one role.

Potter has been out of work for over a year since he was sacked by Chelsea and despite being linked with the England post, Thomas Tuchel was given the job ahead of him.

McManus joked on X: "More chance of Harry..."

Rangers could realistically tempt Graham Potter to take over the reins

While Potter's potential appointment at Ibrox might seem surprising given his previous tenures at top-tier clubs like Chelsea, one cannot dismiss it entirely due to the club's historical prestige and the platform they offer for managerial growth.

Rangers, as one of Scotland's giants, provide an opportunity to manage in a high-pressure environment where success can be quickly recognised.

Winning the Scottish Premiership or performing well in European competitions could significantly boost Potter's reputation, similar to how Steven Gerrard and Ange Postecoglou used their stints at Ibrox and Celtic Park, respectively, as launching pads for their careers.

Furthermore, Gers' infrastructure, fan base and ambition to compete in Europe align with Potter's tactical acumen and his interest in developing a style of play that could resonate in Scotland.

Given his time out of football, managing Rangers could be an appealing challenge, offering both immediate competitive play and a chance to rebuild his managerial profile on the European stage.
