Gordon Dalziel instantly disagrees with what he heard about Rangers, Ferguson backs him up
Rangers are now in the strange position of having a recent dominance on Scottish football.
After a very slow start, Derek McInnes has cemented the Gers as the in-form side in the Scottish Premiership.
Six straight wins, two over Celtic and five clean sheets along the way have them swatting aside any challengers.
Still, they remain two points off top spot as domestic football returns after the extended international break.
Kilmarnock are first up at Ibrox on Saturday, and Rangers can go temporarily top for at least 24 hours.
And as everybody tries to figure out McInnes' new set-up, there doesn't seem to be a clear answer for anyone.
Is there a formula to beat Rangers?
There's no point in looking at games from earlier in the season, it won't do you any good.
Rangers fans are loving the new system, and McInnes has finally struck gold with new players and some regulars fitting in perfectly.
Speaking on Open Goal, Paul Slane believes Kilmarnock and others would have more success by letting them have the ball.
"The best way to play Rangers is sitting off them," he said.
Gordon Dalziel instantly disagreed with that verdict, but Si Ferry suggested that St Mirren almost beat them only weeks ago.
Derek Ferguson was in place to shut that down as well, saying, "Well, you say that.
"Rangers should have been three or four nothing up, but they've got a completely different mindset now.
"That's what those two games against Celtic give you."
Even in that game against St Mirren, it wasn't the same side that's tearing things up now, so it's irrelevant.
Jealously running around Scotland already
Rangers are the in-form side right now, and it would be no surprise to see them top of tree in the coming weeks.
With two Hampden games away from Premier Sports Cup glory too, and McInnes could get his hands on silverware at the first chance.
That would only increase confidence around Ibrox, and they're doing it without some pretty big names.
Youssef Chermiti and Lawrence Shankland are out long-term, and they've been joined by Cammy Devlin.
That's only pushed this group further, and they're performing out of their skin to really put their grip on things.
