Every game Daisuke Yokota could miss after brutal Rangers injury update

Rangers have suffered a fresh injury blow with Daisuke Yokota set for a spell on the sidelines.

The Gers earned a fourth straight Scottish Premiership victory by defeating St Mirren 1-0 at Ibrox on Wednesday.

Bojan Miovski scored the only goal of the game in the second half, though Rangers should have been out of sight in the opening period.

However, the victory was soured a little by an update provided after the game on Yokota.

With Lawrence Shankland also out for a considerable period, Derek McInnes really could have done without another attacker going down.

Which games will Daisuke Yokota miss for Rangers?

Captain Shankland is to undergo surgery in London on Thursday after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The Scotland striker is likely to miss an extra four weeks as a result, having originally been ruled out for three to four months.

But, Chris Jack of the Rangers review reported how McInnes has now also stated a new injury in camp for Yokota, who joined from Hannover 96 in the summer transfer window.

Yokota has torn a muscle in his groin and is to ungergo surgery on Thursday, ruling him out for two to three months.

In September, Yokota will now definitely miss the double header with Celtic in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final and Scottish Premiership.

The international break will come at a good time for Rangers, though he will miss further league games with Kilmarnock (H), Dundee (A), St Johnstone (H) and Hearts (A), and Aberdeen (H). The Scottish League Cup semi-final also takes place in October should the Gers get that far.

Moving into November, Dakota is set to miss St Mirren (A), Motherwell (A), and Falkirk (H).

His status thereafter is a little more unknown, but in the worst-case scenario it could be that he is out for most or all of December too.

If that happens, he will be out for Dundee United (H), Hibernian (A), St Johnstone (A), Hearts (H), Kilmarnock (A), and Dundee (H).

The Scottish League Cup final takes place on 13 December, so he may miss that too if Rangers progress all the way to the showpiece fixture.

What will Derek McInnes do with his attack for Rangers?

Rangers brought in 14 players during the transfer window, so McInnes does have options in his squad.

Against St Mirren, new boy Badredine Bouanani started on the right flank, and you would expect him to a regular.

Djeidi Gassama prefers to be on the left flank, but the former Sheffield Wednesday man can operate on the right.

Youngster Findlay Curtis might see plenty of game time without Yakota in the fray, while Minsu Kim has been playing as a "10" since joining Rangers but could switch to the flanks.
