Borussia Dortmund have been given a boost ahead of their Europa League second leg with Rangers on Thursday after Erling Haaland returned to full training, according to Ruhr.

The 21-year-old striker missed the first leg, which Rangers stormed to a 4-2 win in, with an adductor injury that has also seen him miss the last three Bundesliga fixtures.

But according to German outlet Ruhr, Haaland returned to full training with the reserve team on Monday morning and completed the full session with no problems.

That means he is expected to train with the first team on Tuesday before a decision is made on whether or not he travels with the squad ahead of Thursday's clash at Ibrox.

With no away goals in this year's tournament, Rangers must avoid a defeat by three clear goals in order to progress to the last 16.

Blow

Rangers not having to deal with the elite goalscoring and movement of Haaland in the first leg was an absolute Godsend, because they weren't the most solid defensively.

Haaland is good enough to make half-chances becomes clear-cut chances such as his quality, so his presence in the side alone will cause big problems for the Bears.

Despite their 4-2 win last week, there is no guarantee that Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men will go through considering their weekend performance against Dundee United.

If Haaland is fit enough to play, even from the bench, then Rangers need to be at their very best not only to prevent him scoring but also to find the net themselves and not make it an easy night for the visitors.

Haaland has scored 23 goals in 20 appearances so far this season, including four in his last three games before his injury.
