Djeidi Gassama endures horrid night after career first away from Rangers
Djeidi Gassama suffered an unwanted career first as the Rangers winger suffered disappointment with Mauritania on Tuesday evening.
The 23-year-old has featured 10 times for Rangers this season in all competitions.
Gassama has blown hot and cold for Rangers, having performed well in spells but played a direct part in just one league goal.
He is now away with his national side for Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Central African Republic and Benin.
The first of those ended in a 3-1 home win for Mauritania last week, but they were on the end of a 2-1 loss in Benin on Tuesday.
And it is fair to say Gassama had a moment to forget at Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara.

Gassama performed well for Mauritania in the win over Central African Republic.
A few days on from that match and he once again dazzled on Tuesday, with his 7.4 Sofascore rating the highest of any visiting player on the day.
Gassama was successful with his two dribble attempts and had more shots (two) than any other player.
However, the big takeaway from the game was Gassama's penalty miss with around 20 minutes to go.
Mauritania were two goals down at that point and squandered a glorious chance to get themselves back into the game.
Aboubakary Koita did what Gassama could not in converting a penalty later in the game, but Benin could not find a leveller.
What is Gassama's career penalty record?
Rangers fans will not need reminding that Gassama missed a penalty in the Scottish Cup quarter-final exit to Celtic last season.
That came in a shootout, however, and Gassama had previously scored all three pens he had taken in normal time.
Each of those were with Paris Saint-Germain's age-grade sides between 2021 and 2022 ahead of making the move to Ibrox.
So this was a career-first pen miss in normal time for the attacker, who must now pick himself back up from this disappointing nighta ahead of returning to Auchenhowie.
