Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo took to Instagram to send a message to new Rangers signing Danilo following his confirmed move from Feyenoord on Friday (28 July).

The Light Blues confirmed the signing (Official website, 28 July) of the Brazilian forward on a five-year contract from Dutch champions Feyenoord.

The striker, 24, was a long-term target for Rangers after successive bids and now becomes Michael Beale's eighth summer signing so far.

Rangers

After Rangers confirmed their new signing on Instagram (28 July), with Danilo pictured signing his new contract, Liverpool's Dutch forward Gakpo, responded with a few emojis to congratulate the Brazilian on his move.

Statement addition

The capture of Danilo is a real statement from Rangers and Michael Beale and certainly sends out a strong message to the SPFL that the Gers mean business ahead of the coming season.

A thrilling addition that even Liverpool's decorated young forward Gakpo had to get in on the act and applaud the Gers for their superb new capture.

Rangers

Danilo will now join up with the likes of new additions Abdallah Sima, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers in an exciting new attacking weaponry that could well mean Rangers not only challenge Celtic in a full-scale title race but potentially topple them come the end of the campaign in May.

The Brazilian attacker may not have got the desired opportunities at Feyenoord to close out their impressive title-winning campaign, but the 24-year-old still made a telling contribution scoring 10 goals and registering three assists and providing Arne Slot with a unique ingredient that the Dutch giants will surely miss in his absence.

Credit to Rangers for pushing for this signing and the Ibrox faithful can now join Gakpo and marvel at their exciting new eighth summer signing.
