Robbie Savage is wowed ahead of Rangers clash against Tottenham in the Europa League, with Chris Sutton already making a small jibe.

The former Celtic striker asked one Spurs fan whether they would stick with Ange Postecoglou if the North Londoners were to beat Philippe Clement's team 8-0 after their 4-3 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League on 8 December.

The Light Blues will take on the Lilywhites on Thursday [12 December] in the Europa League at Ibrox after their 3-0 victory over Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

Speaking on the BBC's 606 Football Phone In [8 December], while talking to a Tottenham fan about the Australian head coach, Savage said: "Is it Rangers against Spurs at Ibrox on Thursday? Wow. What a game that is."

Sutton responded: "Rangers are back in form, aren't they? Beat Ross County 3-0. Say Spurs beat them 8-0, would you keep Postecoglou beyond that?"

Rangers meet Tottenham in fine form

The North Londoners are going through a rough patch right now, failing to win their last three games in the English top flight.

Postecoglou's team also drew 2-2 against AS Roma in the Europa League on 28 November.

On the other hand, the Bears find themselves in a good spot, unbeaten in their last eight fixtures and winning emphatically, as they beat OGC Nice 4-1 in their previous European trip.

The inclusion of Ianis Hagi and Danilo has been a big boost for Rangers in recent weeks, although Clement won't be able to call upon the duo for Spurs' trip to Glasgow.

The Belgian head coach will have Hamza Igamane to rely upon, though, and the Moroccan has found his shooting boots at the Light Blues, scoring four goals in as many games recently.

Clement will have to make a big decision in the backline, with John Souttar and Leon Balogun forming a decent partnership as Robin Propper struggles to settle into the team.

It could be a historic night at Ibrox, and the Bears have every chance of getting one over the Premier League outfit as they limp into town.
