Chelsea may already have their transfer answer for Rangers full-back Jefte after Nils Koppen claimed earlier this season they "should sell him" if the right offer comes in.

Jefte has been linked with a move to Chelsea [Central Fluminense], with the English Premier League side said to have already made an approach, and they may already have their answer if previous comments made by Koppen are anything to go by.

Back in October, Koppen, when speaking to Rangers Review, said: "If we have a player like Jefte who is doing well and the right offer comes in, we should sell him and be brave enough to say that we can find the next one."

While that stance may have changed, it appears Chelsea just need to submit an appropriate offer for Jefte and the Light Blues are unlikely to stand in his way.

Nils Koppen may be forced to regret Rangers comments

While his claims hold some validity, in the position they are in currently, Rangers should not be looking to sell their best players whatsoever unless they receive a ludicrous offer.

With the way Chelsea have spent in recent years, Rangers should not be settling for any less and they certainly shouldn't be looking to actively "sell him" like Koppen claims.

Quite frankly, while he may label it as "brave", many others will call it sheer stupidity and it would be hard to argue with the latter.

Rangers ace Jefte
Jefte joined Rangers in the summer

Rangers are struggling this season and actively looking to sell their players just to showcase their bravery makes next to no sense and, if anything, it shows a complete lack of ambition.

If the Gers were to sell Jefte, it's hard to imagine the reaction being particularly positive.
