Rangers defender Borna Barisic may be added to the list of transfer casualties in the coming weeks as Michael Beale aims to overhaul the squad.

According to Football Scotland [29 May], the Gers manager retains an interest in Panzo, who's currently plying his trade at Nottingham Forest.

The left-back was loaned out for the 2022/23 campaign to Coventry City and he had a good run with them, guiding them to the play-off final.

However, failure to get promoted with them may see him look for different opportunities even if they want to sign him permanently.

He does not appear to be someone who can strengthen the Forest playing XI and an exit is certainly on the cards for him this summer.

Panzo is a completely different left-back compared to Barisic and may be exactly what Beale needs, given how attack-minded James Tavernier is.

Clubs these days often play 3-2-4-1 systems with one full-back bombing up the pitch and the other tucking in, either at centre-back or in central midfield.

Panzo is capable of playing as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder and he gives Beale many options with and without the ball.

The London-born player is just 22 so he's not only a signing for now but would be expected to stay put at Ibrox for the better part of the decade.

It's also the ideal time to part ways with Barisic who's already 30 and is proving to be a liability time and again for the Bears.

If Beale wants to take the club to the next level, he's got to make ruthless calls like this one.
