Nicolas Raskin was picked once again as Belgium travelled to France in the Nations League.

Rangers take great delight in their midfielder starting regularly for one of Europe's best.

But, it was a night to forget for Raskin and Co on Monday.

Belgium were one ahead for three quarters of the game, but France fought back to crush their rivals 4-1 in the end.

With Italy also winning that night, it sets up a big November break for Raskin and the Red Devils.

For now, though, he'll return to Ibrox after antoher break on the big stage.

How did Belgian media react to Nicolas Raskin?

Let's be honest, along with Spain, there aren't many who can even get close to the likes of France.

Raskin played the entire 90 minutes against some of the world's best, and Derek McInnes will know he'll only get better for that.

Nieuwsblad rated the Rangers star a 5/10, saying he was given the freedom to make attacking runs throughout.

They also wrote: "Allowed Doué to turn too easily at the 1-1 – a turning point. Operated well in the penalty area on one occasion, but headed over."

DH Les Sports agreed with that rating, saying he had limited attacking influence, but did work excellenty in defence before fading late on.

How did France make Raskin and Belgium crumble?

Keeping a one-goal lead until the 77th minute, it was almost a perfect evening, before it turned into a nightmare.

After an hour, Zinedine Zidane brought Michael Olise, Rayan Cherki and Desire Doue off the bench, the thing of nightmares.

Between them, they scored all four goals, as well as delivering three of the assists.

That's what you can do when you have some of the best players in the world on the bench, and Raskin can rest easy knowing that not many would have stopped that.

For Rangers, they will welcome back their international bunch over the next 48 hours before returning to business.

It's been a very long three weeks at Ibrox after that sensational run, and now it's all about backing that up.

Kilmarnock are up first at Ibrox, and Raskin will just be glad not to see the likes of Olise and Cherki running directly at him.
