Danny Rohl proved that by handing Scally, as well as Aiden McCallion, senior minutes off the bench for their official debuts at the time.
It was only weeks after Scally had signed his first professional contract at Ibrox following his 16th birthday, with big things already predicted.
Despite Manchester City, Liverpool and Spurs having interest, he's set to remain in the Rangers blue.

Via the Rangers Review, one source who has worked with Scally for years even believes that he has the closest potential of anyone to Andrew Robertson in Scottish football.
That is why it's no surprise that the talk in England before his first professional contract in Govan was that he was heading to Man City.
Will Ashton Scally be in Rangers senior squad next season?
In short, he has every opportunity.
Scally and Rangers won't want to rush the decision, but as the old saying goes, if you're good enough, you're old enough.
Tuur Rommens will remain first-choice after signing in January, and with Jayden Meghoma returning to Brentford after his average loan spell in Glasgow, the door is open.
Dujon Sterling can also play on the left, but with James Tavernier emotionally moving on this summer, he will be first-choice on the right.
That may also mean that transfer attention is closer paid to that side, meaning Scally may be even more likely to be included as a first-team regular at Ibrox.
