Rangers could arguably count themselves unlucky against Genk as they find themselves a man down and without a goal going into the break.

Ibrox host Thorsten Fink's team on 25 September, and after a poor start to the game, the Gers took control and started creating opportunities.

Youssef Chermiti started over Bojan Miovski, which certainly raised a few eyebrows among the Light Blues' supporters, and the Portugal Under-21 international was barely involved in the first half.

The 39-year-old head coach is undoubtedly fighting to save his job at the Glaswegian outfit, and it will be even more challenging to get the win after Mohamed Diomande's red card just before the half-time whistle.

After a beautiful ball played into the box found the Light Blues' midfielder at Ibrox, the Belgian outfit's skipper was on hand to help his goalkeeper out.

Ally McCoist was left staggered by what he saw from the 28-year-old, terming it one of the best pieces of action he's ever seen.

Speaking on TNT Sports 2 on 25 September, the Gers icon said: "It's one of the best I've ever seen. That is one of the best, I think I've ever seen. The ball is in great, the header's fantastic, and the clearance is better. That's remarkable."

It looks like Martin's decision to take the team to Loch Lomond has paid off, with the Gers certainly dominating Genk for large parts of the first half.

While Fink's team slowly got back into the match as the match progressed, the Light Blues arguably generated the more threatening opportunities.

Ibrox witnessed Hibernian being beaten in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final on 20 September, and the Scottish manager will be looking to build on that victory.

Rangers need to be resolute in the second half and continue to put Hendrik Van Crombrugge under pressure as they look to get their Europa League campaign off to a perfect start.
