Alex Crook shares what's struck him about Kevin Muscat after Glasgow meeting
Kevin Muscat looks set to become Rangers’ new manager after Russell Martin’s sacking.
It has been a rollercoaster two weeks over the international break, as the Gers looked to save their season.
Steven Gerrard had looked set to return to Ibrox, until the Liverpool legend pulled out of the race.
Now, after two weeks of searching, Muscat is the frontrunner for the job, with negotiations reaching the final stages.

With Muscat’s appointment at Rangers said to be close, the Ibrox faithful will be keen to get to know their potential new manager.
The relationship between Martin and the Rangers fanbase was dreadful and played a key role in the Glaswegians’ downfall this season.
However, there is plenty to be excited about with Muscat as the Shanghai Port manager looks to make a return to Scotland.
The 52-year-old has had a successful career to date out in Australia and Asia, winning numerous titles.

- The manager is aiming to complete the season in the Chinese Super League before moving to Rangers
Talking about the impending appointment, Alex Crook told talkSPORT on 17 October about the qualities the former Rangers defender will bring as manager.
He said: "His CV is very similar to Postecoglou's. He's won titles in Australia and Japan. I met Kev and [his agent] Craig Moore in Glasgow at the Euros a few years ago.
“Even then, he struck me as a very determined and driven character. He wanted to be a success as a coach and he wanted this job.”
How good has Muscat been at Shanghai Port?
With the manager set to leave his job at Shanghai Port, he will come away proud with the work he has done.
To date, he has won one Chinese Super League and FA Cup with the Asia club, as well as finishing as runners-up in the Super Cup.
However, he could yet add another Super League title to his roster in the coming weeks, with Shanghai Port currently five points clear at the top going into the final games of the season.
Therefore, the Aussie could go into the Scottish Premiership on the back of another league title, which will only bold well for the out-of-form Gers.
