Aiden McGeady reveals why 'dynamic' Minsu Kim will keep Rangers on track this season

Aiden McGeady is a big fan of Minsu Kim at Rangers.

The forward joined the Bears on a long-term contract in the summer, departing Girona in a deal worth £8.5million.

Derek McInnes pushed for the 20-year-old, as the manager made it clear to club officials he wanted a creative wide player before the window slammed shut.

Not only did he land Kim, but the 49ers also brought him Badredine Bounani on loan.

However, the South Korean has been the one to explode into life early at Ibrox, and impressed once again in the 1-0 win over Celtic on Sunday.

Though Kim didn't register a goal or an assist, it was his shot that led to Ryan Naderi's winning Old Firm effort for Rangers, as McGeady offers his own verdict on the former.

Kim started in both Old Firm wins over Celtic, and has quickly become a regular for McInnes.

Though the right-winger has yet to be involved in a goal for the Bears, the general Ibrox consensus is that he will be hugely important this season.

Kim was used to exploit the Hoops in wide areas, constantly causing Martin O'Neill's side issues throughout the game.

While speaking on Open Goal, McGeady shared his thoughts on the winger's performance at Celtic Park, suggesting why he can help Rangers stay on the right track.

McGeady said: "I think Rangers will be alright because I see a difference with Minsu [and Kevin Kelsy], more energy. Minsu is dynamic, gets on the ball, plays nice passes

"See when he took the ball for the one that got cleared off the line, and Kelsy is at the back post?

"It's even just the thought of knowing the overlap is coming, and the wee slip ball. Just clever, intelligent players, so that's why I think they'll be alright."

Kim racked up 10 goals and assists combined while on loan with Andorra FC last term, and it feels like it's only a matter of time until he scores his first goal for the Gers.

The likes of Kim, Kevin Kelsy and Bouanani are only expected to get better with time.

It wasn't just any old winger that McInnes was after towards the end of the window.

The Bears were careful in their recruitment of Kim, and didn't splash £8.5m on the youngster for nothing.

He has genuine talent that, with patience, could make him one of Rangers' best players in recent years.

Speaking after Kim signed for Rangers, McInnes said, as quoted by the club's official website: "We are delighted to welcome Minsu to Rangers.

"Strengthening our options in the forward areas has been a real target and focus for us throughout this window, and we believe he will add another exciting dimension to the squad.

"Min-Su is a talented young player with excellent technical ability, energy and a real desire to develop, and we are looking forward to working with him."

The "dimension" that McInnes alluded to is so crucial, and it's what is already being seen at Rangers.

He offers something completely different to the likes of Djeidi Gassama and Findlay Curtis.
