Dan Bardell believes that transfer plans could change for Rangers after Nicolas Raskin was spotted in a protective boot in preseason.

The former Belgium youth international featured for the Gers in a friendly clash against Ajax on 13 July.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested that this injury setback could change Philippe Clement's transfer plans.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: "Rangers are still trying to bring players in at the moment.

"They are in need of a rebuild and want to shape the squad in the manager's image. So seeing a player like Raskin in a protective boot already is a blow to the season.

"Rangers will wait for news but these sorts of things change transfer plans and now it's one to keep an eye on."

Nicolas Raskin Rangers injury concern

The midfielder would certainly be a loss for the Light Blues if he was to miss any of the opening matches of the season through injury.

Raskin began the friendly against Ajax in midfield alongside Mohamed Diomande and was replaced by Connor Barron.

Clement already has enough problems to deal with in his squad having lost the likes of John Lundstram and Ryan Jack from his midfield at the end of the season.

The Belgian manager will await more information about the 23-year-old's injury but will be hopeful that a full squad can be available for the season opener against Hearts.
