Rangers injury news: Doctor shares John Souttar update for Dundee after Celtic incident

Rangers defender John Souttar will have received stitches after his side secured a 3-3 draw v Celtic, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert has reacted to an image from the Old Firm derby which saw the Scotland centre-back covered in blood.

While it is not something he had to be taken off for, he will have been treated after the game and is unlikely to miss the 10 April clash v Dundee.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: "The best case here is a cut that is superficial and heals relatively quickly.

"The worst case is a deep cut in a place that involves more movement so there’s more risk of it opening up.

"In terms of treatment, he will have gotten some stitches post match to seal up the wound.

"That said, it does not seem like anything that keeps him out of action."

Souttar soldiers on for Rangers v Celtic

Souttar played the entire 90 minutes in one of the most thrilling Old Firm derbies of recent times.

He put his body on the line and showed Philippe Clement how he can be a rock in defence for the Gers side.

Should the game with Dundee go ahead, there is every chance of him being named not just in the matchday squad but also in the starting eleven.
