Hearts manager Steven Naismith issues injury update on Rangers loanee Alex Lowry
Hearts manager Steven Naismith has issued an update on Rangers loanee Alex Lowry after he picked up an injury this week.
Lowry got injured as his Hearts side picked up a 1-0 win in the SPFL against Livingston on Wednesday, 1 November.
While Naismith claims that it's the club doctor who'll take control, it's not understood to be particularly serious.
He told Sky Sports, “It was a concussion-type situation so I think the doctor takes control of that.
“I’ve not actually spoke to him since but I’d imagine he’ll be fine.”
Hope he's fine
The fact that it's a concussion and nothing more extreme suggests that he should be fine.
Still, until there is an update on him, one will hope that he doesn't have any further complications.
It's good that in the modern game, a lot of importance is put on concussion protocols and having an extra substitution for it.
Lowry has done well so far on loan and he's proving that he's ready for a first-team role in the SPFL.
Of course, the quality at Hearts is incomprable to that at Rangers, but regular game time will certainly benefit his career development.
He'll be a more matured player at the end of the season and then Philippe Clement will decide whether or not he wants to integrate him or loan him out again.
