What Rangers season ticket sales say about fans' views on Derek McInnes
Rangers have announced their season ticket sales ahead of the 2026-27 season.
With pre-season getting under way over the coming days, that sense of optimism that comes with the start of a new campaign is gripping Rangers fans.
2025-26 was a rollercoaster of a term to say the least, but one that ultimately ended in huge frustration at the way Gers' title challenge petered out.
Now though, it's out with Danny Rohl and in with Derek McInnes, with early aggressive transfer breakthroughs suggesting everyone inside Ibrox means business for 2026-27.
With the opening day of the new Scottish Premiership season drawing ever closer on 31 July, Rangers fans will hope their away trip to Dundee United marks the start of a memorable year.
And, when Gers welcome Hibernian to Ibrox for the first home game of the new campaign on 9 August, McInnes will feel exactly the sort of backing he and his players have got.
How many season tickets have Rangers sold?
Few sets of supporters back their team like Rangers fans do, but they're also not afraid to show a manager or the board their frustrations either.
But judging from the season ticket sales Rangers have announced on Thursday, Bears supporters are firmly behind McInnes and the direction he hopes to take their team in.
Gers have confirmed that season ticket sales for 2026-27 have now completely sold out.
Rangers say that over 98 per cent of existing season ticket holders renewed, with over 1,600 moving the location of their seats over the course of the transfer window to do so.
On top of this, north of 700 new season card holders have signed up for the new season, further highlighting the appetite to support the team.
Did Rangers' 2026-27 season ticket sales sell out faster than last year?
It's no surprise to see Rangers fans selling out on season ticket sales, but the speed of which this has been achieved this time around is impressive.
For 2025-26, Rangers announced on 16 July that all season tickets had been sold out, with again more than 98 per cent of existing card holders renewing.
This means that Gers fans have sold out season tickets a week earlier this year, which only further proves the impact McInnes and their early transfer business has had already this summer.
Roll on 9 August then, as Ibrox is sure to be rocking for McInnes' first home league game in charge against Hibs.
