Rangers manager Philippe Clement is not on the shortlist to become Belgium manager, Ibrox News understands.

The Gers boss has come under fire at Ibrox for multiple poor performances but has been linked with a potential switch to national management.

This comes after the Red Devils sacked Domenico Tedesco on Friday (17 January) and the Light Blues head coach was linked to the vacant post [The Scottish Sun].

It is now unlikely that the 50-year-old will be on the move as Ibrox News has learned that the Belgian FA have "big financial issues".

Rangers manager Philippe Clement not on Belgium's shortlist

A source close to the Belgium national team has revealed to Ibrox News that a payment of £840k (€1million) was required to sack Tedesco.

This has left the Royal Belgian Football Association with monetary problems which will mean only "free agent" managers can be considered.

With Clement still in his job at Ibrox, the former Monaco boss is not on the shortlist of potential successors for the 39-year-old.

Ibrox News understands that the likes of Thierry Henry, Erik ten Hag, Louis Van Gaal, Michel Preud'Homme and Rudi Garcia are now being considered for the vacant role at the King Baudouin Stadium.
