Craig Moore believes Darius Olaru could be a decent signing for Rangers but feels the club won't be able to pursue his transfer due to their financial constraints.

The Light Blues are big admirers of the Romanian, with FCSB looking to cash in on the midfielder in the summer of 2025 [Daily Mail, 30 October].

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show Podcast [14 November], Moore expects Olaru to cost around £5million, which could deter the Bears from making a move.

"I think that interest will probably cool pretty quickly in terms of the prices. You're talking £4 or £5million. I think that puts Rangers out in regard to the investment that they don't have," he said.

"Attacking midfielder, 26 years of age, Romanian international. So a handy enough player and at a good age. In terms of Rangers' financial situation probably doesn't mean that it becomes a likely opportunity."

Darius Olaru could be great signing for Rangers

Rangers haven't been at their best this season, and the team's output in the final third hasn't been up to scratch.

The Light Blues aren't creating a lot of chances, and when they do, Cyriel Dessers isn't clinical enough to take the opportunities.

Philippe Clement's team have been poor in front of goal, especially away from home, with the Bears scoring only two goals in the Scottish Premiership.

Apart from Dessers, Rangers have Hamza Igamane at their disposal, but the Moroccon still needs time to grow before being handed the mantle at the club.

Danilo is another player Clement can call upon, but the Belgian manager has been unable to rely on the centre-forward due to his fitness issues.

Olaru mostly plays as an attacking midfielder role and has scored 10 goals in all competitions for FCSB in the current campaign.

If the Light Blues can't even spend the amount needed to get the Romanian, fans should be worried about the direction their club is going in.
