Celtic outdo themselves as measly £50k offered to Rangers for 'significant' Ibrox damage

Celtic have offered Rangers a measly £50,000 for the damage that was done to Ibrox during the Scottish Cup Old Firm clash in March.

The Hoops emerged victors after a penalty shootout following a goalless 120 minutes of action, but the full-time scenes were the most shocking of all.

Celtic fans pitch invaded at Ibrox, provoking Gers fans to also enter the field of play, which was just one controversy from the game.

According to the Scottish Sun, the Bears want around £1million for damages done to the Broomloan Stand, which was opened to Celtic fans for the first time in several years for this game.

Rangers and Celtic are in a financial disagreement following discussions, but the Hoops are clearly the ones being ludicrous in this situation.

Celtic's refusal says it all about them as a club

Celts believe they only have to pay £50,000 due to an apparent long-standing agreement, which has prompted Gers to hold off on payment to their arch-nemesis for away tickets for last week's Old Firm clash.

The Broomloan stand saw chairs being broken, abusive graffiti written on the walls, damages to toilets and to the high-tech pitch-side LED screens.

Celtic are around £950,000 off what the 49ers are asking for, as the SFA are now said to be involved in trying to resolve this dispute.

It will come as absolutely no surprise that the Hoops are refusing to foot the bill, as the club is not taking accountability for the mindless actions of their own fans.

If you asked some neutrals, some may suggest that Rangers and Celtic are just as bad as each other. But when you look into things, that's far from the case.

The Bears have always been willing to move forward and progress to bring what's best for Scottish football, but are clearly not being made to look like fools anymore.

Letting 7,000 Celtic fans into Ibrox will most likely never happen again, as Old Firm away attendances, if any, are a sad state to see.

The fixture's reputation has only heated up in recent years, and not for good reasons, though the issues have mainly been brought about by Celtic.
