49ers Enterprises 'to make swift Clement sack decision' as Rangers takeover nears
49ers Enterprises look set to make a swift decision on the future of under-fire manager Philippe Clement.
Clement remains manager despite overseeing one of the worst defeats in Rangers' history as they lost 1-0 to Queen's Park in the Scottish Cup.
There have been strong suggestions Clement could avoid the Rangers sack until the summer, although recent takeover developments may change those plans.
49ers Enterprises look set to purchase a large stake in Rangers within months, and Clement could well be feeling twitchy at this point.
Derek Ferguson expects swift Philippe Clement exit decision
In the view of former Rangers player turned pundit Derek Ferguson, the 49ers will not waste time in deciding on Clement's future - whether that means standing by him or pulling the trigger.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Ferguson said: "It's been said over and over that we can't afford to sack the manager.
"Well if this income arrives from the 49ers, we will be able to. I don't want to be flippant sand say 'sack him', but it's clear to see where we are domestically that he's not cutting it.

"The fans I speak to are simply not impressed with his interviews; they don't get where he's coming from with his comments.
"This is something [the 49ers] will look at very early on - not just a new manager but also right through to the academy.
"That's what money does - it gives you an option to attract the best people in the business in certain areas throughout the club. This is where the money could be spent as well to benefit Rangers Football Club."
How close are 49ers Enterprises to completing Rangers takeover?
There are growing reports that an agreement is close and should be in place between April and June, with Dave King open to a deal.
Exactly what this agreement means for Rangers in the long term remains to be seen, but it can only be a positive.
