Rangers have agreed on personal terms with Jose Cordoba with him set to be the first signing of the summer, according to the Daily Record.

The media outlet claimed on 20 May that Gers are now expected to thrash out a transfer fee with Levski Sofia for the 22-year-old centre-back.

It was initially believed to be a £3million transfer fee for the Panama international but it's understood to be less than that.

Jose Cordoba's arrival may see Ben Davies leaving Rangers

The arrival of Cordoba at Ibrox could potentially mark the end of Ben Davies' time at the club.

While Davies has been a peripheral part of the team and filled in when needed, his performance may not have met the expectations of the new management.

With the addition of the 22-year-old, a highly-rated defender, the English defender might find himself further down the pecking order, leading to his departure.

On the other hand, while Leon Balogun's future at the club is also uncertain due to his contract expiring, Clement has expressed a desire to keep him.

It's evident from team selections this season that Clement fancies Balogun to Davies and that could see him asking the board to allow the latter to leave.

Ben Davies has been in and out of the Rangers team so far this season.

There could also be a transfer fee involved with that as compared to Balogun who will be parting ways as his contract expires.
