Rangers have not made an offer and do not hold a "concrete" interest in signing Kilmarnock star Danny Armstrong this summer, according to Chris Jack.

The Light Blues had been linked with a summer move for the winger, with Tam McManus previously urging Philippe Clement to bring Armstrong to Ibrox as he looks to close the gap to Celtic [PLZ Soccer, 27 May].

Despite some social media speculation, however, Rangers Review journalist Jack insists the Gers are not interested in signing the Kilmarnock star this summer and so far no official bid has been made by the Light Blues.

Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel (27 June) he said: "I know this was one that was doing the Whatsapp and Twitter rounds at the start of the week. As far as I'm aware there is nothing concrete in this one.

"As you mentioned there Derek, Killie will want top dollar for him, Killie are looking for a £1million upwards and they're still trying to get him tied down to a new contract so as far as far as I know from the Killie end there is nothing concrete in terms of Rangers' interest.

"They're aware of the online chatter but not in terms of talks being held of money being put on the table."

Will Rangers sign Kilmarnock star Danny Armstrong in summer transfer window at Ibrox?

Derek McInnes' Kilmarnock side have been incredibly impressive over the last few months and although the manager deserves plenty of credit, Armstrong has been one of the team's most consistent performers week in and week out.

He may not be the most exciting of players when compared to the likes of Oscar Cortes or Abdallah Sima, but he would offer Clement a reliable and consistent presence out wide, something which cannot be sniffed at.

The Belgian likes his side to play with plenty of width and one of the issues he faced in his first season was a lack of quality out wide. The signing of Armstrong would have solved that issue and not broken the bank.

Ultimately, it doesn't appear as though a move is close at this moment in time and the Gers don't appear to be in any rush to get it over the line. Maybe that will change in the coming months before the season gets underway.
