Sassuolo playmaker Nedim Bajrami is on his way to sign for Rangers permanently before the deadline, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that the Light Blues will pay £3.3million for the Albanian international at Ibrox.

Philippe Clement is also set to bring in a new defender with Neraysho Kasanwirjo to join on loan from Feyenoord [Sky Sports].

Finally, this is what everyone has been waiting for all day.

Just as it looked as though a single loan transfer for a new defender was all that Nils Koppen would deliver, he has pulled Bajrami out of the bag.

With Todd Cantwell and Scott Wright among those to exit the club late on in this window [Andy Bayes], it is great to see that a new playmaker is set to arrive.

With Celtic also making big statements and splashing the cash from the sale of Matt O'Riley, it's good to see money being spent at Ibrox, albeit not as much.

Bajrami was a shining light at EURO 2024 for his country as the massive underdog, and has experience in Serie A, so he brings big expectations with him to Scotland.

With him on his way to Glasgow, hopefully this one can be ironed out and fully sorted ahead of the deadline striking in a matter of hours.
