The new American regime at Ibrox has endured a rocky first season in charge. A dismal opening spell under Russell Martin left Rangers on the back foot, but Danny Rohl has since brought stability and guided the side back into contention for the Scottish Premiership title. Still, few would have predicted Derek McInnes’ Hearts enjoying such a strong campaign alongside them. Domestic silverware is all that counts for Rohl, and after a disappointing elimination from the Scottish Cup against Celtic, the league is now the only goal remaining.

Rangers started the post-split fixtures in disappointing fashion, crashing to a 3-2 defeat against Motherwell at Ibrox, dropping them to third and four points behind leaders Hearts.

Rohl now knows that nothing but three points will now do against Hearts at Tynecastle, as James Tavernier desperately tries to end his Ibrox spell with the title.
