Rangers make correct call on Nasser Djiga as update emerges on loanee
Rangers will have quite a few decisions to make over their loanees from the 2025-2026 season, with Nasser Djiga one of those stars.
The Bears have been using the loan market quite effectively, with Mikey Moore one of the bigger successes in recent years.
However, they do not always get it right, with Andreas Skov Olsen set to return to Wolfsburg after struggling to make an impact.
Djiga, though, did provide a solid influence on the G51 outfit this season, and keeping him at Ibrox would have been smart.
But, ahead of Rangers’ summer window, as transfer talk begins to get louder, the Bears have seemingly made a final call on the Wolves star.

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
What is the latest on Nasser Djiga and Rangers?
Djiga’s Rangers loan started in quite poor fashion, with the centre-back receiving plenty of criticism for his early performances.
His displays were correctly judged, as it seemed like he was not yet ready to compete at the level the Bears needed him to.
| Nasser Djiga for Rangers | Scottish Premiership 2025-2026 |
| Pass accuracy | 93% |
| Duel success | 65% |
| Balls recovered per game | 4.2 |
| Clean sheets | 7 |
After the season ended, though, thoughts of supporters may have shifted after he turned his Ibrox spell around.
However, for those wanting to keep Djiga, that looks unlikely.
According to the Express and Star, Rangers have communicated to Wolves they will not be pushing forward to take Djiga on a permanent move.
While it may look like a mistake on paper, with the Burkinabe’s performances improving vastly following his return from AFCON in January, Rangers are making the most optimal move.
Wolves want £10million for Djiga in order to sanction a permanent move away, and forking out such a substantial fee for a defender who had one excellent half of a season makes little sense.
If the fee were lower, it would have been a no-brainer for the Ibrox chiefs, but with other positions needing reinforcements, the Bears have got this one right.
Additionally, moving forward with another loan would not be an ideal idea, as Rangers need to build for a sustained period of success rather than looking to the immediate future.

Who could be signed instead of Nasser Djiga at Rangers?
If reports are to be believed, Rangers are looking to sign defender Luke Graham. The Scotsman may end up being the Djiga replacement.
Graham has enjoyed a successful season at Dundee and, at 22 years old, would be joining the Gers at an excellent age.
Time will tell who comes in this summer, but Graham would certainly be a great alternative for Danny Rohl over Djiga.
