Shankland signed from Hearts on Tuesday in what will go down as a free transfer at Ibrox, thanks to his last contract at Tynecastle.

With Youssef Chermiti holding the nine shirt, Shankland has taken the number seven and will look to make it his own with memories to last a lifetime.

What did Ianis Hagi say to Lawrence Shankland?
Rangers shared a throwback of some of the last players to wear the seven shirt, with Hagi one of those modern legends at Ibrox.
The Romanian star scored several huge goals during his time in Govan, with many of those strikes coming in those famous Europa League nights.
Hagi reshared that post on his personal Instagram account, with a message of his own to Shankland.
It follows the likes of Kemar Roofe, Oli McBurnie and Josh Windass loving the transfer business conducted by Rangers already.
What has Ianis Hagi done since Rangers?
After a loan spell in Spain with Alaves, Hagi had one more full season at Ibrox before moving on for good.
It has taken him to Turkiye, where he now plays for Alanyaspor.
Comfortably sitting in mid-table, it hasn’t been the worst first year for his new side, with his personal record not that amazing either.
Hagi has registered five goal involvements, with only three goals to his name.
In fact, it follows a trend of a somewhat average previous three years for the playmaker, who has never quite managed to replicate that 2020/21 season at Ibrox.
With eight goals and 12 assists to his name that year, Hagi has only managed 23 total goal involvements in the five seasons that have followed.
Rangers fans always wish him the best, though, and it’s very clear that both they and Hagi hold each other in a very high place.
For Shankland, it is now all about firing Rangers back to the very top.
