Mikey Moore has already made Tottenham exit stance clear as Rangers push for deal

Mikey Moore faces a potentially tough call over his future this summer as Rangers look to sign the Tottenham Hotspur ace on loan for a second time.

The 18-year-old directly contributed to 10 goals in 33 Scottish Premiership outings for the Gers in 2025-26.

While it was a tough campaign for Rangers, and indeed Moore to begin with, the young attacker grew more and more in stature.

Moore is now due to return to Tottenham, where he is highly regarded, but Danny Rohl has confirmed he would like to strike a deal for next season.

And Moore has already spoken out on a possible Rangers return after a successful loan spell this time around.

🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.

Danny Rohl wants Mikey Moore deal – but what about the player?

Rohl was asked about the prospect of re-signing Moore following Rangers’ 5-2 win at Falkirk Stadium on the final day of the season.

“Mikey fits really well here and I totally believe we can get him to the next level as well,” Rohl told reporters.

“But we have to do a lot of things right now. We have to be patient with Mikey but also on the front foot. We’re clear and we will try everything.

“Maybe if there’s a chance and it makes sense to wait for him, we will wait. But if you ask me, I want to have him straight from pre-season when I prepare my team for a good start to the season.”

Rohl has therefore made clear he not only wants Moore back at Ibrox, but ideally as soon as possible in time for pre-season.

Moore, hailed a “special” player by ex-Rangers striker Jermain Defoe, was recently asked about the prospect of returning to Glasgow.

“We’ll have to see what [Roberto De Zerbi] says about me, what he wants me to do, what the people around me want me to do,” Moore said.

“I think that’s all I can say at the minute. I’m going to go back there, see what the new people say in the building and from there, I’ll make a decision.”

It is quite clear that Moore is not ready to commit to Rangers just yet, with his future effectively coming down to what new Spurs boss De Zerbi wants.

And that may well come down to whether Tottenham are relegated from the Premier League or not over the next week.

Tottenham fate could determine where Moore ends up

If Tottenham drop into the English second tier, which is not that far-fetched at this point, they would surely have more reason to keep hold of Moore.

While the teenager is clearly talented, it is unlikely he will be called upon regularly if Spurs stay in the Premier League.

The question then is whether it is better for Moore to start one game in four and come on as a substitute, or instead play pretty much every game at a competitive level with Rangers.

Rohl can certainly offer him that, and that is why Rangers need to ensure they are quickly on the phone to Tottenham once their own campaign finishes.
