Rangers: James Tavernier reunion with Steven Gerrard on cards away from Ibrox
Rangers fans could potentially see James Tavernier and Steven Gerrard reunite at Burnley in the summer.
The right-back has announced he will be leaving the Gers at the end of the season once his contract expires.
Gerrard is being tipped for the Burnley job and speculation over his return to management will only increase now that Scott Parker has left Turf Moor.
The Liverpool icon could potentially use his connections at Ibrox, where he won the league title, to reinforce his squad at the soon-to-be EFL Championship side.
Tavernier has been influential under Danny Rohl and the 34-year-old clearly believes he still has a few years left at the top of the game.

The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
Rangers could see James Tavernier move down south
Wolves want to sign Tavernier as they prepare for their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the season.
Considering the interest in the defender from down south, it wouldn’t be out of the question for a team like Burnley to look at someone like him if they lose Kyle Walker.
The Gers right-back has shown in the current campaign that he still has a lot to offer, especially going forward.
| Player | Team | Big chances created |
| James Tavernier | Rangers | 17 |
| Declan John | St Mirren | 17 |
| Calvin Miller | Falkirk | 14 |
| Daizen Maeda | Celtic | 13 |
With the Light Blues’ captain close to ending his 11-year stint in Govan, a massive decision awaits him as he prepares to leave Ibrox.
There will surely be plenty of options for Tavernier to choose from, with teams from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Greece probably looking to add his experience to their squad.
Danny Rohl may regret Ibrox blunder
Rangers will undoubtedly need to find a quality replacement for Tavernier in the upcoming transfer window, a task that hasn’t proved easy in recent years.
The likes of Max Aarons have come and gone at the Gers but have failed to live up to expectations, while Dujon Sterling can’t be trusted to play a consistent role at Ibrox due to his injuries.

Tavernier came on at half-time against Motherwell and improved the Glaswegian outfit’s prospects, especially on set-pieces.
It will certainly be hard for any incoming signing to succeed the veteran right-back and it may have been better for Rohl to keep him around for a while longer.
