Rangers: Danny Rohl’s future in focus as potential third-place finish cranks up pressure
Rangers boss Danny Rohl could be in trouble if the Light Blues were to finish third in the Scottish Premiership behind Celtic and Hearts.
The Bears lost 3-2 to Motherwell at Ibrox last time out in the league, and it has started to make supporters think that a title win is out of reach now.
Games against Hearts and Celtic are next up for Gers, but with both being matches away from home, it’s not looking good.
There have been suggestions that the 49ers are already planning their summer window with the Rangers boss, but nothing in football can be ruled out.
Rohl could still be sacked this summer, especially if the Bears finish outside the top two.

Scott McDermott ‘definitely’ thinks Danny Rohl will be in charge next season
There have been early shouts to sack Rohl, but it wasn’t long ago that the German head coach could walk on water.
The Bears almost went into the break at the top of the league, though the loss to Motherwell has shifted the dynamic of things.
| Game | Date |
| Hearts vs Rangers | Mon, 4 May |
| Celtic vs Rangers | Sun, 10 May |
| Rangers vs Hibernian | Wed, 13 May |
| Falkirk vs Rangers | Sat, 16 May |
There have already been transfer talk going on behind the scenes at Ibrox, so it would make sacking Rohl seem rather unexpected, even if Rangers do fall short of winning the league.
Speaking on the Daily Record‘s Hotline Live, Scott McDermott shared his thoughts on whether it is realistic to see Rohl sacked this summer, and weighed in on the Bears possibly finishing third.
McDermott said: “No, I don’t think so. I definitely think Rohl will be there to start next season.
“I do think Rangers finishing third would put him under a bit more pressure on him, as it would for any Old Firm manager that finishes outside the top two.”

As it stands, the Bears are in third, and it would be the first time they’ve finished outside the top two since the 2017-18 season, if things stay as they are.
Why Rangers won’t go down without a fight
A loss to Hearts would be the final dagger in Rangers’ hopes of winning the league, and fans would expectedly lose faith in Rohl once more.
However, his record proves that if he were in charge for the full season, he might have already had the league wrapped up by this point.
If the Bears lost to Hearts, they would then travel to Celtic Park the following week feeling deflated, but they’d have to gear themselves up for a big Old Firm derby.
Rohl will need to learn that stopping Celtic from winning the league would then be Rangers’ next goal, if they fall short at Tynecastle.
So there is a reason to fight until the final day, but if there’s no sign of this, then questions will be rightly asked of the Rangers boss.
