Bojan Miovski: Rangers have got impressive financial value out of £2.6m transfer
Bojan Miovski has only ended up costing Rangers £371,000 per Scottish Premiership goal this season.
Signed from Spanish La Liga side Girona last August, it was hoped that Miovski would turn out to be a shrewd investment by Rangers.
The 26-year-old striker has impressive pedigree for goalscoring in Scottish football, having starred for Aberdeen during his two years at Pittodrie between 2022-2024.
However, after a 2024-25 campaign in Spain that saw him bag just four goals and one assist from 24 total appearances, he rocked up in Glasgow as a player looking to prevent his career from stagnating.
£2.6million was the financial investment Rangers made to secure the North Macedonia international’s signature, but has he provided Gers with a bang for their buck?

Rangers’ financial cost per Bojan Miovski goal in 2025-26
Miovski has split opinion at Rangers this season, having played a rotational role alongside Youssef Chermiti at the spearhead of Gers’ attack.
At 26, in the prime of his career and with a track record for goals at Scottish Premiership level, many supporters had a lot of hope that he’d evolve into a talismanic player during his debut campaign at Ibrox.
| Miovski’s 25-26 league stats | Result |
| Goal conversion | 23% |
| Big chances missed | 7 |
| Touches per game | 14.7 |
| Big chances created | 1 |
| Total duels won | 36% |
However, with just 14 starts from his 27 league outings so far this season, he’s not quite been able to do that.
As a result, there are some questions being asked over his long-term future in Glasgow already, now that the football club is under the ownership of the evidently ambitious 49ers Enterprises, who have also shown they’re willing to spend too.
So, has Miovski been an unwise £2.6m purchase, or has he actually provided a solid return on investment for Rangers this year?
Well, using his widely reported initial transfer fee of £2.6m, when we divide that by his number of goals scored in all competitions this season, which is 13, his cost per goal rate currently sits at £200,00.

When you break that down even further to include only his seven Scottish Premiership strikes, that figure rises slightly to £371,000.
Particularly his cost per goal rate in all competitions looks extremely cheap, whilst if Rangers do go on to win the title, that current £371,000 figure would also be a relative snip.
Miovski has plenty more room for goals at Rangers
2025-26 is far from Miovski’s ceiling as a Rangers player too, as there’s certainly a lot more goals to be had out of those boots.
As detailed by Sofascore, he’s only averaged 47 minutes on the pitch per Scottish Premiership appearance this season, with a number of his outings coming via the way of brief cameos from the bench.
When you consider that, as well as the fact he’s having to battle with a quality and ascending player like Chermiti for opportunities too, Miovski has done better than his seven league goals suggest.

He’s now comfortably into double figures in all competitions with four more games still to play, and with three scored from as many matches, perhaps all Miovski needs to come out of his scoring shell even further is more minutes.
