Ryan Naderi worry emerges at Rangers amid new footage from Auchenhowie

Ryan Naderi could be a fresh injury doubt for Rangers’ clash with Livingston on Sunday.

Danny Rohl is looking to keep the momentum going after a huge Ibrox victory over Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts last time out.

The German revealed that Rangers have several injury worries for the clash, but he would not name names, as he kept his cards close to his chest.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he gave the update, saying: “There will be some changes – not because I want to, but because I have to. Some players have problems, but we’ll see on Sunday.”

Why Naderi could be absent for Livingston vs Rangers

One man who could be absent for the Gers is new signing Naderi, as he was apparently absent from training on Friday afternoon.

Gordon Duncan was at the Auchenhowie training base, reporting as footage was shown of the session, and he could not spot the German forward, in a new worry for Rohl.

Speaking on Sky Sports News on 20 February, he said: “Danny Rohl did say earlier on that there were a couple of players he wasn’t sure of injury-wise, and that he was keeping his cards close to his chest.

“Well, most do seem to be out there, I can’t see Ryan Naderi, the new striker, so perhaps he’s one that Rangers will be worried about.”

Why Rangers will miss Naderi if he is injured

There were question marks over bringing in a striker from the German third division, but Naderi has had a very good impact since moving to Govan.

He has notched two goals and two assists in his first four matches as a Light Blues played, in just 199 minutes on the pitch.

Rohl started both Youssef Chermiti and Naderi against Derek McInnes’ side, and it ultimately paid off, so he may have wanted to utilise that approach again.

However, if the 22-year-old is in fact out injured, he may have to rethink his tactics for the clash with Marvin Bartley’s side.

He could opt for Bojan Miovski to play in a two with the hat-trick hero Chermiti, but he may revert back to having just one forward instead.

If Naderi is absent, it presents an interesting dilemma for the ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss, and how he handles it may well determine the result that the Bears come away with.

They need all three points to continue to put the pressure on the leaders and take the race for the championship down to the wire, and that will be harder to achieve without the forward.
