Rangers and Celtic face off on Saturday, but the weather could cause problems at Parkhead.

The area just outside Glasgow, where Rangers and Celtic are based, is the subject of a weather warning from the Met Office.

The yellow warning is for snow and ice, with temperatures expected to drop to -2°C in the early hours, before the game is played.

There is currently no threat of postponement for the Scottish Premiership clash, but supporters should keep an eye on official channels for updates.

Rangers and Celtic will have had meetings with Police Scotland

Keith Hackett believes that the Gers and the Hoops will have held meetings with Police Scotland due to the complications that could potentially arise.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said: "There will already have been several meetings with regard to the planning of this fixture that always throws up challenges for the Police and Club stewards.

"The fact that there is a weather warning certainly adds complications for the fixture taking place.
In a holiday period ensuring that staff are available.

"Transport, catering, safe access and egress to and from the stadium.

"The officials will be in a local hotel, available for an early inspection of the playing surface if required.

"These are complex situations with an experienced Police Commander used to working with both clubs who will be overseeing the major operation."

Danny Rohl will be desperate for Celtic vs Rangers to go ahead

Danny Rohl will want the clash to go ahead at all costs, as he will fancy the Light Blues chances of getting a positive result.

Wilfried Nancy lost his first four games as Celtic boss, then bounced back, winning two games against Aberdeen and Livingston.

However, he suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Motherwell last time out, and Rohl will be keen to compound the Frenchman's misery.

The Gers have won four of their last six league games, which has left them three points behind their arch rivals, and they could put themselves right into the title mix with a win.

He will not want a postponement, and it does not look like it will come to that.
