Kevin Thelwell must act as Danny Rohl set to demand new terms for Rangers duo
Kevin Thellwell could offer new contracts out at Rangers on the say-so of Danny Rohl.
Thelwell has come under pressure at Rangers after what has been a shocking start to life since his move to Ibrox in the summer.
Many supporters have called for Rangers to sack Thelwell already, based on his poor transfer record in Govan.
Thelwell could have followed Russell Martin out the door, but has stuck around and is continuing to have a telling say on the Light Blues.
New Gers boss Rohl is now tasked with working with Thelwell and seemingly already has a task for him to get started with.

Danny Rohl draws up Kevin Thelwell instruction amid Rangers report
Kris Boyd may not like Rohl’s Rangers celebrations, but the Ibrox faithful are starting to get behind the German in big numbers.
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss has overseen a positive start to life in the Scottish Premiership after winning three on the bounce.
The latest win over Dundee was arguably the best so far, with fans pleased to see the likes of Mikey Moore performing well.
Rohl is continuing to draw up a report about his squad in G51 as he prepares for the upcoming January transfer window and beyond.
Speaking via the Record Rangers Podcast on 11 November, Scott McDermott has suggested that new deals for John Souttar and James Tavernier could play a part in his new plans.
The journalist has suggested that Thelwell will have to work with the demands of the new head coach to resolve these deals.
He said: “I think if Danny Rohl is putting a report together, as he is, having looked at this squad for three weeks, I’m pretty certain that he will say in that, James Tavernier and John Souttar are two guys that he wants to keep around the place.
“They have been key players for him, they’ve played nearly every game, and he’s relied on them. Both of them are out of contract, I think there’s a pretty good chance that Danny Rohl will be saying, ‘These are guys I want to keep.’ The sporting director [Kevin Thelwell] will have to act on that.“
James Tavernier could now pen new Rangers deal
The Englishman has long been a controversial figure at Ibrox after a string of sub-par performances over recent seasons.
Tavernier was once at a top-class level, but hasn’t been able to show that recently and has become less effective in the Scottish Premiership.

The skipper does still know Rangers inside out and is a positive voice to set the standards as part of an inexperienced squad under Rohl.
Handing him a new deal may not be popular with every member of the Govan faithful, but it could prove to be a wise move if Thelwell can be trusted to get it over the line.
