Danny Rohl will be looking to avoid an embarrassing result when Rangers travel to Dundee on Sunday.

Rangers have already drawn 1-1 with Dundee in the Scottish Premiership this season, when Nasser Djiga was sent off in the short-lived Russell Martin era.

Rohl has led the Ibrox side to third place, cutting the gap to Celtic to five points, after winning his first two league games in charge against Kilmarnock and Hibernian.

However, he could be put to shame at Dens Park after a new reveal emerged ahead of the 9 November contest.

Rangers have a remarkable recent record vs Dundee

There is reason to be hopeful as the Light Blues have not lost to the Dee since November 2017, a streak of 18 matches unbeaten against that particular opponent.

They have won 14 and drawn four in that period, scoring 46 goals to the Dark Blues' 10, a remarkable record for the Bears.

Rohl risks Rangers embarrassment in Dundee clash

The Gers have had Dundee's number in recent years, and if they lose, it will surely be a new low for the Govan outfit.

They cannot allow a team that has not beaten them in the last 18 meetings to come away with all three points, especially one that has won just one of their last five league matches this season.

The Gers endured plenty of low moments under Martin before his dismal reign came to an end, but defeat to the Dee may be the worst result of all, given the recent record against that opposition.

Rohl needs his side to continue their momentum and continue to put pressure on the Hoops, and also try to reduce the gap to the league leaders, Hearts.

His European adventures and the Scottish League Cup defeat to their Glasgow rivals may have put a downer on the ex-Sheffield Wednesday man's arrival in G51, but another negative result against Steven Pressley's side would be the icing on the cake.
