Rangers will be hoping to kickstart their season following an extremely busy transfer window.

Hamza Igamane's move to Lille dominated much of the headlines in August, but transfer activity on deadline day has given Gers fans some much-needed optimism.

A player exit could still be on the cards for Rangers, whilst Kevin Thelwell will be hoping his gamble pays off in the coming months.

Clinton Nsiala's future at Rangers in doubt following interest from Belgium

Despite the transfer window being shut for Scottish teams, clubs from Belgium can still conduct business until 8 September.

Nsiala is linked with Anderlecht, KV Mechelen, and Zulte Waregem, after turning down a deadline day move to Dynamo Kyiv.

The French centre-back joined the club on a free transfer last summer, but has rarely featured for the club since his arrival.

Rangers' signing of Derek Cornelius has pushed Nsiala further down the pecking order, and a move away from the club looks likely.

Kevin Thelwell must hope Youssef Chermiti delivers at Ibrox

Thelwell sanctioned Youssef Chermiti's £10m transfer from Everton, making it Rangers' most expensive signing in 25 years.

The Portuguese forward has a poor goalscoring record at the Toffees, having not scored a single goal for the senior team.

Michael Ball is critical of Thelwell, highlighting that it is a bad use of the funds Rangers had available to them.

Speaking to Record Sport, he said: “From a fan’s point of view, it’s a big financial risk to spend so much money on one player.”

Rangers fans will hope that Chermiti can hit the ground running at Ibrox.

Hamza Igamane thankful to have left Rangers

Igamane scored twice on his Lille debut, having left Rangers in an unsavoury manner in August.

Igamane had a great 2024/25 season for Rangers, having joined from Moroccan side FAR Rabat.

When speaking to reporters after his move to Lille, he said: "First of all, thank God, I managed to make a good transfer. I am very happy that my transfer has come to fruition under the best possible conditions."

Chris Sutton believes Rangers are still title contenders

Sutton has been very critical of Celtic's transfer window, alluding to the fact that Rangers are still in the title race.

Rangers have started the season awfully, drawing their first four Scottish Premiership games.

Despite this, Sutton said: “I can’t recall them having a worse transfer window, and it’s the knock-on implications of it. First of all, they have let Rangers — and if you want to include Hearts — well and truly into a title race. There’s no doubt about it.”

Sutton's desperation at Celtic's transfer business could provide some Rangers fans with some much-needed joy.
