Ridvan Yilmaz seems to have played his final match for Rangers and appears set to leave the club.

The Turkey international moved to Ibrox in 2022, but his time in Scotland has been marred by inconsistent form and injury issues.

He's also struggled to cement his spot in the strongest eleven, with Jefte often being picked ahead of him.

Besiktas president Serdal Adali confirms Ridvan Yilmaz agreement

Serdal Adali, the president of Turkish side Besiktas, has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the left-back.

He also confirmed the transfer could be completed soon and that the 24-year-old will arrive in Istanbul in the coming days.

Coming through the ranks at Besiktas, Yilmaz earned them a decent amount when Rangers secured his services three years ago.

Rangers need to sign a new right-back if Max Aarons is the left-back

Yilmaz's imminent exit means that Rangers should look to make another signing to bolster their dept at full-back.

Rangers need to sign a new right-back despite signing Max Aarons, who has been playing at left-back.

Jefte is there to be his backup at left-back, but James Tavernier is not good enough to be the first-choice right-back all season.

With Dujon Sterling injured, depth is limited and it makes it imperative to have another player in that position.

Martins could ask the board to sign a centre-back capable of playing at right-back, as that will give him options in two different positions.

This would enhance tactical flexibility and defensive stability, crucial for Rangers’ ambitions in the Scottish Premiership and Champions League qualifiers.

Time will soon run out on making new signings so it's imperative for the club to prioritise a new defensive signing sooner rather than later.
