Nico Raskin’s future at Rangers has been uncertain since the end of the Scottish Premiership season.

The Belgian international was easily one of the Gers’ best players last season despite the overall campaign being poor.

As a result, Raskin has been linked away from Rangers, with Wolves the latest side showing an interest in the midfielder.

However, it is still possible that the 24-year-old remains at Ibrox as Russell Martin shapes his side for the upcoming campaign.

Rangers will surely keep hold of Raskin as Igamane exit edges closer

Reports emerged on Thursday (26 June) that Hamza Igamane was on the verge of leaving Rangers

The 22-year-old also impressed at Ibrox last season and netted 16 goals in all competitions.

Therefore, interest has been high in the forward as speculation surrounding his future grew.

While the former French champions and Rangers still need to work out a fee, as it stands, the transfer is likely to go through.

However, one silver lining from the deal may be that Raskin could now stay at the Gers following Igamane’s exit.

It was also likely that it would be either Raskin or Igamane sold this summer, and now it appears to be the latter.

Hopefully, the sale will put an end to rumours surrounding Raskin once and for all as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Martin needs to tie Raskin down to a new contract

As much as Igamane’s sale could quell Raskin speculation, it will not truly end until a new deal is signed.

Rumours has increased in recent weeks that Raskin will sign a new deal at Rangers. However, nothing is official yet.

If Martin can get this deal over the line, it will boost confidence massively around the Glasgow club ahead of the upcoming Champions League qualifiers.

Hopefully Rangers will get this deal over the line sooner rather than later before a club attempts to turn Raskin’s head.
