Rangers in talks to sign £4m Turgeman after Thelwell intervention

Rangers are aiming to make some game-changing signings this summer, and already have their eyes on an attacker.

Russell Martin will have the leading scorer in the Scottish Premiership in Cyriel Dessers, as well as the talented Hamza Igamane at his disposal, but could still make additions to his front line.

Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Dor Turgeman is now of interest, and Rangers could swoop in to beat several sides to his signature.

New sporting director Kevin Thelwell has no time to lose as he aims to rebuild the squad, and this could be a positive step to kick off the summer transfer window.

Rangers in talks over Turgeman transfer

Rangers are very keen on Turgeman, with Thelwell leading the pursuit for the 21-year-old, and talks have already begun to bring him to Ibrox.

The Daily Record (6 June) have now reported that Turgeman, who was also of interest to Martin during his reign at Southampton, is in talks over a move to Rangers, while several Spanish sides are also keen.

The striker could cost £4million, and could become the first signing of Martin’s reign in charge if a deal is completed quickly, with Thelwell aiming to sign him as a priority.

Turgeman scored 20 goals in 44 games across all competitions this season, including four in seven games across the Europa League qualifying rounds and main competition.

Turgeman could bring goals to Rangers

Although Dessers was the leading goalscorer in Scotland, he was often frustrating in front of goal, missing countless big chances before eventually finding the net, and attacking reinforcements are definitely necessary.

Turgeman would arrive as a top prospect who already has an eye for goal, and could continue to improve in this regard.

The centre-forward could provide additional depth and competition upfront, and if he picks up where he left off this season, he could become the first-choice option before too long.

It remains to be seen what formation Martin will elect to use, but another striker would be a very useful addition regardless, and a young player in Turgeman’s form could be the perfect profile to target.
