Kris Boyd slams ‘lazy’ Cyriel Dessers in Rangers win v Aberdeen
Rangers hammered Aberdeen 4-0 in their penultimate home game of the Scottish Premiership season.
The first half at Ibrox lacked intensity and quality as Barry Ferguson’s men went in level at 0-0 with Jimmy Thelin’s side.
Both teams put the ball in the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes, but saw their respective efforts ruled out for offside.
But Barry Ferguson’s men turned on the style in the second half, with goals coming from Vaclav Cerny, Cyriel Dessers, Hamza Igamane and Jefte.

Boyd hammers Dessers over disallowed goal
Rangers thought they had put themselves 1-0 up in the first half through Dessers, but VAR disallowed the goal as the striker had wandered into an offside position.

Boyd was left unimpressed by the 30-year-old, and speaking on Sky Sports Football [11 May, 12.57pm], he said: “For me, there’s just a little bit of laziness from him here. Get yourself tight to the defender. You cannot be offside here.”
The Nigeria international successfully made up for his error, though, as he notched the Bears’ second goal of the afternoon.

Ferguson avoids Ibrox embarrassment
Ahead of Saturday’s triumph over Aberdeen, Ferguson ran the risk of completing his interim spell as Gers boss without managing to yield a home win.
The Bears’ only remaining home game of the campaign arrives on Wednesday 14 May, when they host Jim Goodwin’s Dundee United.
Rangers will be disappointed by their home form this term, especially after a loss against St Mirren at Ibrox in February, which cost former boss Philippe Clement his job.
The Gers also lost on home turf to Championship outfit Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup in February, while Ferguson had been unable to turn the Light Blues’ Ibrox fortunes around.
But the 47-year-old will be relieved that he has managed to earn at least one home win before his interim tenure concludes at the end of the season.
However, Ferguson should still be determined to steer the Bears to a victory over Dundee United on 14 May as the Ibrox outfit look to end an otherwise poor campaign on a strong note.
