Kris Boyd cannot believe Danilo reveal at Rangers after Aberdeen draw – ‘Wow’

Rangers drew 2-2 with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday despite their poor performance in the first half.

Aberdeen went 2-0 up in the first half courtesy of goals from Leighton Clarkson and Pape Gueye, either side of Ross McCausland’s red card.

Hamza Igamane got Rangers on the scoresheet early in the second half, as the Bears strived to prevent Celtic from claiming the top-flight title on 13 April.

Ianis Hagi then scored a stunning late equaliser to ensure that the Gers did not leave with nothing, despite their numerical disadvantage and initial two-goal deficit.

Kris Boyd slams Danilo in furious Rangers rant

Kris Boyd was left seething with the poor first-half performance at Pittodrie and was particularly critical of Danilo, who was hooked in favour of Mohamed Diomande at half time.

Danilo was poor for Rangers against Aberdeen

Boyd could not believe what he was watching from the Brazilian, who has never really proven his price tag, with constant injuries hampering his progress.

Speaking live on Sky Sports Main Event at half time [13 April, 12:58], he said: “Danilo, £5million? Wow.”

Danilo has been on poor form for Rangers

It should come as no surprise that Boyd criticised Danilo at half-time of the Gers’ encounter with Aberdeen, as the Brazilian has been on poor form lately.

The 26-year-old has notched a thoroughly decent return of five goals and four assists in 18 Scottish Premiership outings this term, but he has not scored since Rangers’ 3-0 win over Celtic on 2 January.

He was handed a rare starting 11 opportunity against Aberdeen, as Ferguson rotated his squad ahead of his side’s Europa League quarter-final second leg clash with Athletic Bilbao on Thursday.

However, Danilo failed to impress the interim boss as he couldn’t create any real problems for the Aberdeen backline to think about, even though usual midfielder, Graeme Shinnie, was playing at fullback.

The Gers are vying to enjoy a strong end to an otherwise woeful domestic campaign, but the former Ajax attacker is not currently capable of producing the goods for Ferguson’s side.

It may be time to move on.
