Patrick Stewart can rightly feel as though he has been thrown in straight at the deep end since being appointed by Rangers.

The former Manchester United chief was announced as Rangers' new chief executive officer in November, with his role officially beginning on 16 December.

Since then, Rangers have sacked Philippe Clement, appointed Barry Ferguson in a caretaker capacity and navigated the January transfer window.

That is not to mention the whole takeover situation at Ibrox, with 49ers Enterprises set to take the club to new heights later in 2025.

Stewart set to hold Rangers fan event

It has now been announced by Rangers, via an email to supporters, that Stewart will speak at a fans' forum at Edmiston House on 23 April.

As per a report in the Daily Mail (3 April), Stewart is "bracing himself" and knows he will have "his work cut out" as it presents fans with a first chance to grill him.

Rangers shareholders' list looks set to change dramatically

Among the major topics of the day will be the takeover situation and the search for a new manager after Clement's sacking.

Supporters will also no doubt be eager to know what the Ibrox club's plans are for the summer transfer window in terms of incoming and outgoing activity.

Rangers set for exciting few months ahead

The quarterly fan event was set up by Stewart's predecessor James Bisgrove in an attempt to give supporters a look behind the curtain, so to speak.

The events are often dominated by issues such as finances and transfers, but they will be slightly further down the list this time around.

Stewart will just be desperate for results to continue in a positive manner between now and this event, or else it could create a hostile environment as has been the case in the past.

While Stewart may still be relatively new in the job, he has overseen some major developments already and this is a chance to have an open discussion with supporters.

Whether it is an update on the Rangers takeover as it stands, or whether Ferguson will be the man to stay in charge beyond this summer, clarity will be given a few weeks from now.
