Rangers 'worry' emerges after Jack Butland incident live on Sky Sports

Rangers provided their supporters with yet another rollercoaster in the Scottish Premiership as they recovered to beat Dundee at Dens Park on Saturday.

The 4-3 win for Rangers after a two-goal deficit was a complete soap opera for Barry Ferguson's side, and not for the first time, after Cyriel Dessers eventually hit the winner on his 100th Gers appearance.

Jack Butland has been the hero at times for the Light Blues this term, but did not cover himself in glory with one moment in the first half.

Rangers earned their three points the hard way yet again this season after recovering from 2-0 and 3-1 scorelines to take the 4-3 victory back to Govan.

Alongside goals from Dessers, Tom Lawrence and James Tavernier to complete the comeback in the second half, Joe Shaughnessy's own goal gave Gers hope before the interval.

Before that, though, Shaughnessy fired in at the right end for Dundee after Butland had dropped a seemingly routine catch.

James McFadden, co-commentating live on Sky Sports (29 March, 17:49), told Ian Crocker that the Englishman should have done far better for a goal from which his attacking teammates eventually bailed him and his defence out.

"It's a tame header. It should've been a comfortable take for Jack Butland," the ex-Scotland forward said.

"It skips up, and he doesn't deal with it. It's a simple one. The worry for Rangers is there are two players unmarked in the box."

Ferguson inspires another breathless win

Ferguson will need some time to calm down from what was a complete helter-skelter of a Saturday, and the second time in his short managerial reign, his team have had to come back from two goals down to win.

It may not seem sustainable to keep relying on comebacks to win games of football, but it's something Rangers have accidentally mastered.

There simply isn't a boring contest for Gers under their former captain, which could attract and put off the potential incoming regime in equal measures.

Of course, Rangers fans just want to see a routine win by a few goals against the bottom sides in the table, which they will admit through gritted teeth, Celtic have executed far better this season.

Former Celtic forward Chris Sutton has even argued some of a Rangers background are getting carried away with the recent Old Firm win (16 March) - another wholly dramatic encounter.

But by hook or by crook, they got their win to round off March, and April provides the make-or-break event for the Light Blues' topsy-turvy campaign.
