Dundee midfielder Josh Mulligan is someone Rangers should have on their transfer radar.

After breaking into the starting lineup this season, the 22-year-old has been impressive for the Dark Blues.

Mulligan featured for Tony Docherty's team and provided an assist as they drew 1-1 against the Gers at Dens Park on 9 January.

Dundee have used the Scotsman's versatility to good effect in the current campaign as he's played in multiple positions.

Rangers told to complete Josh Mulligan transfer

Celtic and the Bears should be in a potential race to sign Mulligan, Stephen McGinn says.

The ex-midfielder has been impressed by the 22-year-old and wants the Glaswegian outfit to push for his signature.

McGinn believes the Scotland Under-21 international could be a replacement for James Tavernier at Ibrox.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (7 February), the 36-year-old said: "I really like Mulligan. Been moved to right-back. I would go and sign him if I was Celtic or Rangers. Just look at the position. Tavernier hasn't got long left in his career. They will be looking for a right back."

Josh Mulligan to replace James Tavernier at Ibrox?

Tavernier is evidently in the final stretch of his career, and Clement has had to answer questions about his future at Rangers.

The 33-year-old has found his way back into the starting lineup in recent matches after missing out due to an injury.

There was also a period in the season where the Belgian manager preferred different options at right-back, but for now, the captain has kept his place in the team.

Ridvan Yilmaz played at right-back in Tavernier's absence to good effect but was unfortunate to pick up a knock as he seemed to build up steam.

The Turkish national has not been the first name on the teamsheet since Jefte's arrival, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the defender return to Turkey in the near future.

While the Gers arguably need to buy a new right-back sooner rather than later, Mulligan could be a gamble for them as he's rarely played in that role.

Clement's future has also been up in the air on several occasions this season, which will evidently affect their plans if he is sacked before next summer.
