Zak Lovelace quits Ibrox as Rangers agree deadline-busting deal
Millwall have beaten the 11pm transfer deadline to re-sign Rangers youngster Zak Lovelace, according to Dan Marsh.
The Mirror journalist reported via his personal X account [3 February] that the 19-year-old is set to leave Ibrox three years after departing the Den, making just eight first-team appearances for the Light Blues.
It is understood that the deal could be in line for a seven-figure fee including add-ons after the forward turned down a new contract at Ibrox for a return to the Championship [Daily Record].
Zak Lovelace set to leave Rangers
Supporters are bound to be disappointed with the 19-year-old’s decision to leave Ibrox this month.
He was an incredibly exciting signing when he arrived in Scotland in July 2022, but having had his career destroyed by injuries, his time in Glasgow has been far from what was expected.
However, with so many talented players beginning to accumulate under Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen, with the rebuild still ongoing, Lovelace may have missed out on valuable game time.
The forward had just managed to gain a spot on the first-team bench, coming on in a few recent games and even assisting a goal in the 3-1 win over Dundee United, but it is clearly not enough for him.
It makes sense for the Gers to get rid of him now for a seven-figure fee, rather than wait until the summer and lose him for a measly compensation fee like the Light Blues will do for Lyall Cameron [Sky Sports].

As Millwall’s second-youngest debutant, it feels like a romantic last-gasp transfer for the youngster, but it will always be a ‘what if’ when it comes to what his career could have become with the Gers.
Supporters are certainly going to be disappointed by his exit because everyone knows how much talent he holds, but due to injuries, he has been unable to show it on a regular basis.
