Besiktas have a sell-on clause in any sale of Ridvan Yilmaz from Rangers, according to Play Spor.

The Turkish outlet reported via X (31 January) that the Super Lig side has a share clause in a sale of their former player, who they are currently trying to regain the services of.

The Gers are said to want a fee of £4.1million for the left-back [Sabah, 31 January]. However, the Turkish side are continuing to work at trying to lower the fee.

Rangers ace Ridvan Yilmaz could be set for Besiktas return

Although Philippe Clement has said his player is injured, there has been continuous speculation over the future of the player who was spotted jetting out to Turkey.

With Jefte taking the first-choice left-back position at Ibrox too, it doesn't come as a massive surprise that an exit could be on the cards as Yilmaz has struggled to really establish himself with the Light Blues.

His former side having a sell-on clause is a peculiar situation though and it may explain why the Gers are not very willing to compromise on the price they have put on the player.

For too long Rangers have been guilty of not doing their business correctly which has left the club with a lack of money to spend when transfer windows come around.

With this in mind, if there is a sell-on fee for them to pay out to Besiktas, Clement's side will want to make sure they get enough out of the deal.

However, you don't often see a club paying out their own sell-on clause which certainly makes this a unique transfer move.
