Neil Warnock has slammed Rangers manager Philippe Clement for being rude when the two managers last met.

The Gers boss has come under pressure in recent weeks and is looking ahead to an Old Firm clash on Thursday (2 January), which could be the final straw for the Belgian.

Looking ahead to the clash at Ibrox live on talkSPORT (2 January, 8:57am) Warnock revealed that he doesn't like the Light Blues' manager after facing him in February 2024 during a stint in charge of Aberdeen.

He said: "One of my first games up there was against him [Clement] for me, he was a bit disrespectful, a bit rude and so I'm not a massive fan."

The 76-year-old spent an eight-game period at Aberdeen between February and March in 2024 before leaving after just one league win.

The former QPR boss' first game in charge came at Ibrox as the Dons fell to a 2-1 defeat thanks to goals from Todd Cantwell and Rabbi Matondo.

It is clear that Warnock doesn't have fond memories from the clash, not about the result, but about the behaviour of the opposition manager.

Clement isn't well-liked by the Englishman, a feeling which is echoed by sections of the Govan club's supporters who are losing patience in truly underwhelming league campaign.

The Belgian has seen some positive results in recent weeks but a defeat against St Mirren and a draw against Motherwell have put the Belgian on thin ice.

With an Old Firm clash coming up, the ex-Monaco manager needs to hope for a positive result at Ibrox or he will seriously risk facing the sack.
