Rangers need to avoid any "nonsense" against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, David Edgar says.

The Light Blues are set to take on the Steelmen at Fir Park on Sunday (29 December), and Philippe Clement's team have been urged to avoid another blip by the Hand & Heart podcast host.

After the loss to St Mirren on Boxing Day, the Bears find themselves 12 points behind Celtic in the league table, and Edgar wants the Gers to come away without any embarrassment.

On the Heart & Hand Podcasts' X account (29 December), Edgar wrote: "None of your nonsense today, please, Rangers."

Rangers need victory over Motherwell

Considering the gap at the top of the table, it's unlikely that the Light Blues will be able to catch up to their Old Firm rivals in the second half of the season.

Clement's team are now playing for pride in the Scottish Premiership and can't go further behind the Hoops.

The Gers are also still alive in the Europa League and need to keep up their form in order to qualify for the knockout rounds and potentially make it to the final.

Rangers will also start their Scottish Cup campaign in January, which could be an opportunity for the Belgian manager to salvage a trophy from this season.

Motherwell are coming off a 4-0 loss to Celtic on 26 December, and Stuart Kettlewell's team will surely be looking to bounce back from it.

But if the Gers want to show that they've made progress since the start of the campaign, Clement should aim to replicate the 4-0 scoreline.

The Bears need an emphatic victory to drown out the sorrows of the St Mirren defeat.
